On March 30, 2016, Westchase District broke ground on the second phase of what is now a 5-mile trail system. The Brays Bayou Connector Trail runs between Richmond and Bellaire on the banks of the Harris County Flood Control District canal. With fewer cars traveling on one of the state’s busiest roads due to the stay-at-home order, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) seized an opportunity to shift the Westheimer Road resurfacing project to a 24/7 operation. BEFORE: November 2018 Crews have finalized the latest landscaping improvements along the northbound and southbound slopes adjacent to the West Sam Houston Tollway frontage roads between Richmond Avenue and Westpark Drive.
