Parks

Westchase District offers multiple greenspaces for outdoor enthusiasts. Woodchase Park, the District’s first fully-programmed park, features lots of free activities for all ages. The park has a children’s play area with a climbing wall, slide, water misting feature, and Berliner Twist, plus a dog park, community garden, fitness equipment, activity lawn, and a pavilion with restrooms. Sneed Dog Park, at 9855 Pagewood Lane, is exclusively for our four-legged friends with benches and a doggie fountain. Trailside Park, near HCC Campus Trail, includes stationary seating, a picnic table, and a zipline. Opening in early 2025 at 2951 Wilcrest Drive, Camden Park will have many features of Woodchase Park, plus a multi-purpose pavilion, separate dog parks for large and small dogs, and an onsite restaurant. Trails

Westchase District’s trail system begins at Westheimer immediately east of Houston Community College and continues to Art Storey Park south of Bellaire. Multiple underpasses allow users to travel the entire 5-mile length of the trail with only three street crossings. Along the beautifully landscaped trails, you’ll find exercise stations, a self-help bike repair station, emergency phones and informational spikes that detail the history and ecology of the area. The Library Loop Trail features a butterfly garden, Little Free Libraries and one-of-a-kind murals created by local artists. A unique Corten steel bridge has been installed across the canal at Library Loop Trail and will offer handicapped accessible access to Camden Park when the park opens in 2025. The trails are maintained by Westchase District staff and patrolled by law enforcement officers working for the Westchase District Patrol.

Family Fun

Families living in or near Westchase District can enjoy many activities here. A week-long Spring Break event is held at Woodchase Park every year, offering a staycation for families not traveling for the school holiday. Woodchase Park also plays host to Movie Nights, a Trick or Treat event and a Christmas celebration. Families can enjoy a picnic at Trailside Park, while kids enjoy the zipline.  And Quillian Center and its two pools are a great source of family fun. Quillian offers kids’ sports leagues, plus after school programs and summer camps. The Noah’s Ark pool is a favorite destination for families of toddlers, while bigger kids and adults enjoy Quillian’s large pool. Both pools are open for public swimming and private parties all summer long.

Education

Students who live in Westchase District attend schools in either Alief Independent School District or Houston ISD. Other options include the Alief Center for Advanced Careers and the Alief Early College High School. Westchase District also is home to a charter school and several private schools, many with day care and after school options for working parents, who can enjoy the convenience and flexibility of having their child attend school just minutes from the office.

If you’re considering advanced education, several options exist including Houston Community College, American InterContinental University, the Center for Advanced Legal Studies and Fuller Theological Seminary. Students can also earn a four-year engineering degree from UT-Tyler while attending classes at the HCC campus on Hayes Road.
